HYDRA IS THE STAR AT THE CENTER OF THE HYDRUS SYSTEM, HOLDING EVERYTHING TOGETHER IN A BIG, COSMIC DANCE.
Hydra is a 4.8 billion year old K-type main-sequence star (inf. orange dwarf) located within Cassai Object 72, more commonly known as the Pluso galaxy. It is the central star of the Hydrus system, and is host to six planets - of which there are four that humanity call home.
With a cooler surface temperature at approximately 5,000 K, Hydra burns with an orange hue that glows onto the surrounding planets in a soft amber. Despite its relatively modest size, Hydra boasts an impressive lifespan, with the star expected to continue shining for several billion more years.
It's no surprise that Hydra holds significant importance outside of science. Throughout Terran history, Hydra has gone by countless names. The Azumehas worshipped 'the Orb Mother' for generations. 'Hidarya' sat atop the throne of deities. The Ta'takoan tribe sang its praises to their Meh'aka, as it's bright eye gazed upon them. For generations, it has served as an important figure in mythology, religion, and various cultures across the Hydrus System.
