Following the groundbreaking release of MPT (Microfusion Propulsuion Train) technology by Stile-RD in 2751, the aerospace industry witnessed a revolution. While established corporations rushed to integrate MPT into existing spacecraft designs, a new niche emerged. Traditional racing vessels, while achieving impressive speeds, were limited by their interplanetary focus due to their immense size and emissions. The MPT, engine however, offered a solution, paving the way for a novel class of spacecraft: high-performance, atmospherically optimized racecraft. These were snub craft that focused on only one thing: speed and agility.
Recognizing this potential, two prominent entities, the House of Álvarez and the Neumann Collective, joined together in 2754 to establish Vytal. Driven by a shared passion for crafting the ultimate performance vehicle, they saw MPT as the key to achieving this goal. Their initial operations started off at a Neumann-owned facility in the outskirts of Stuttgart. There, Vytal's team utilized their expertise into developing their first creation, the RS-A.
The RS-A garnered widespread critical acclaim. Its MPT-powered design shattered existing atmospheric racing records, establishing Vytal as a prominent force. Their efforts would move into the international racing scene, where they would claim race win after race win in the European Argentum Championship.
Vytal would go on to be very successful in the world of racing-sport, creating various spacecraft that would take them to the top. From the era-defining RS1 platform in 2762, to the infamous RS4 platform in 2766, all the way to the unusual RS5 platform in 2768, they would become a fan-favourite in the racing leagues they participated in.
However, this success would be cut short.
