House of Álvarez

Contrei happens to fall within the Álvarez lineage. The House of Alvarez is intriguing to many - certain members of the family have a lot of influence over the Philippine Archipelago in Gurūpu. How exactly they got their power is unknown, as their history can be connected to various industries and political movements. The most one can do is speculate.

Childhood

Contrei lived comfortably; the position his family was in allowed them to live in a lush apartment in the metropolis of New Clark. However, unlike others in the Álvarez lineage, he would attend a private school instead of being taught at home (like Adelaide).

Contrei was an adequately smart kid; getting good grades in all of his classes was expected of him. Though he never seemed to fit the smart type most of the time, as he was occupied at random tables bantering with friends instead of studying. Regardless, that still didn't stop him from excelling in school, and he would later go on to attend a prestigious university.

First Encounter

During his teenage years, Contrei would accompany his father when he would travel for work. Often times, this would be to Vytal's racing-development facility in a small, European town - Stavelot. He had always admired the spacecraft that his father brought home from time to time, most of which were creations from his joint company, Vytal. Naturally, he would start asking if he could visit these facilities at some point, curious about the creation of the stuff he admired. While it wouldn't technically match to what Contrei was looking - Stavelot being the facility for racing specific spacecraft rather than the hyper-performance snubcraft that his father would fly - he would still find the sights of the facility mesmerizing.

Eventually, he would take a visit to Vytal's Arctara facility on Myrl; a visit that would solidify his desire of working in the industry.

Vytal

Crisanto Álvarez (Contrei's father), would retire from his post in 2817, as Vytal's Director. He would pass his role down to Contrei, who had sufficient experience from his years working alongside him.

Contrei's leadership over Vytal is quite similar to his father's - pushing the company to make strides while refining what was already proven to work. This would be his philosophy when formulating the Focalor (ship) in 2820.

His way of doing things is in contrast to Adelaide's attitude towards the company, in which she tends to lean towards a more experimental approach to projects.
