Vytal-Arctara Resources Branch
Post Interview Report - Miyahira, Tokkyū
2822 Foundry 1, Mt. Nabethea, Erios
Subject — Tokkyū Miyahira, candidate pulled from a regional series
Subject Reference — Jules Chastain, Arctara A.G. team principal
Reason for interview — Arctara A.G. pilot onboarding for primary roster
Liason — Luther Townsend, Head of the Resources Branch
The subject gave a detailed account of her competitive record across Consortium sanctioned (RSEC) regional racing series. Performance metrics, historical standings, and lap times were consistent with what was forwarded by Mr. Chastain's office prior to this interview. All her metrics meet threshold required for consideration in the HSRL.
Unregulated racing experience
The subject also disclosed prior involvement in unsanctioned, unregulated racing events, in which she had participated as both a mechanic, and later on, as a pilot. Given the nature of these events, none of this experience can be substantiated through standard verification channels (unable to contact a sanctioning body, no medical or incident records, no independent witnesses that are willing to be named, etc). I had asked her about it regardless, on the basis that undocumented experience is still experience.
The subject recounted several incidents from this period, offering them candidly and, quite frankly, without much apparent distress. She acknowledged that her safety - and by extension her life - was treated as expendable by teams who would hire her. Almost no medical staff on-site, no safety inspections of vehicles or circuit layouts, and no legal recourse for those who get injured.
She had described one incident in particular, in which she sustained severe injuries to both arms and her torso while working as a mechanic. According to her, during a routine stop, a component had failed under load while she had her arms inside the chassis. Her description of the recovery period was very brief, and she quickly moved on from it to a different anecdote about her piloting.
When asked why she participated in these underground racing events, given the evident risk, the subject was straightforward: she did not come from a privileged family, and unsanctioned events happened to be her only viable path into the industry. The events were also the fastest and most direct way to earn money for her. She later clarified that she initially wanted to become a licensed mechanic, hoping to make her way to some form of official racing that way. Piloting was considered to be secondary due to the expensive upfront cost, though it ended up coming to her incidentally.
The remainder of the interview covered standard procedure, addressing contract specifics, sponsor obligations, media training, and the medical and technical evaluation schedule preceding her debut in the HSRL. The subject asked clear, practical questions throughout and required no repetition of material.
Existing rapport
When we briefly discussed the topic of getting familiar with her colleagues, the subject mentioned that she is already acquainted with Arctara's other pilot, Alano Ramos. According to her, they had crossed paths in the Acwaiian HS100 league, where the two spoke on a semi-recurring basis. She described the relationship as friendly, and did not elaborate further.
Pre-existing rapport between our pilots is an asset, and should be favorable for onboarding planning purposes. Initial friction should be minimal, if any.
No disqualifying findings, proceed with the onboarding process. Please flag for informal follow-up with medical and performance psych (see item 2), not as a cautionary sign but as good practice given disclosed injury history.
