Interesting one today, mostly for reasons that have nothing to do with the paperwork. Surface level, he's about as clean an academy promotion as I've processed. His performance metrics back him up, his diverse racing background is a bit unusual for someone his age, and he's pretty much matched Elsie's¹ practice figures, which is quite a statement. But I'd be lying if I said that Ignacio Ramos wasn't a recurring thought. Back in the [2790s] he raced against Arctara A.G. and Jules² for titles, and now here's his son sitting across from me about to wear this exact team's colors. Alano didn't bring it up like it weighed on him; actually he talked about his father with something akin to pride rather than baggage, but I assume that's a story that gets told more than he gets to tell it himself.

On the racing side, I find him quite practical. Methodical, clever, talks about strategy like someone who's actually studied it. Not something we've seen in a lot of our academy pilots, to be quite honest. That being said, I've gone through his logs beforehand, and it looks like every now and then, he occasionally throws that discipline out the window mid-race for a gut call that doesn't always pay off. Doesn't seem like a flaw so much as it's just who he is, really. I've already flagged it to Jules, because Ramos' engineer is going to need to learn early rather than get surprised come the first toss-up.

I left this one optimistic. He's got the head for it, and he's inheriting a story that I'm sure will have the media eating at him. I'm curious to see how he grows into it.
