DURING THE EARLY YEARS OF SHIP RACING, SPACECRAFT WERE SLOWER AND SIMPLER; ONLY REQUIRING THE PILOT TO WEAR STANDARD FLIGHT EQUIPMENT TO OPERATE A VEHICLE. HOWEVER, AS IMPROVEMENTS TO SPACECRAFT ALLOWED FOR FASTER SPEEDS, RSEC REALIZED THAT NORMAL HUMAN INPUT AND ANALYSIS CAN ONLY GO SO FAR.
Unlike other teams with universal racewear, Arctara works with clothing manufacturers and technology firms to create a more "modular" approach for racewear.
Operator-Basic refers to Module Type-1 racewear, which consists of tight-fitting apparel; i.e. compression layers, skin-tight suits, and body-conforming clothing. This type of racewear is useful for high-G maneuvers, which prevents blood-pooling in an operator's extremities while encouraging flow towards the cranial area. The package is made of wicking material - useful for cooling in warmer climates.
Operator-Basic racewear also includes MOLLE-style rigid webbing, which allows for equipment to be securely mounted onto the operator easily.
Operator-Drifter refers to Module Type-2 racewear, which consists of loose-fitting apparel. This type of racewear is useful for thermal regulation and reduces fabric-binding; generally a more endurance, comfort focused attire for operators.
Operator-Drifter racewear also includes a series of traditional cargo pockets on the inside, which are useful for storing temperature-control gear and other equipment for the operator.
Both Operator-Basic and Operator-Drifter racewear are compatible with signature Arctara outerwear layer - normally stylized as a white cropped jacket with Arctara insignia. There are two variants, each used depending on the climate:
A thin 'breaker' style jacket, used for warm/neutral climates
A thicker 'down' style jacket, used for colder climates
While these jackets can mostly be seen on Arctara operators, they still serve the purpose of general outerwear and can sometimes seen on the paddock crew or outside of racing.

While both Alano and Tokkyu may change between different pieces depending on the race, both have their own preferences for racewear:
Usually, Alano will be seen wearing the Operator-Drifter package for most of his race stints as he prefers comfort over practicality. However, he may also wear pieces of the Basic package as an undersuit for certain tracks - such as Bethea, where many of the corners require the operator to undergo sustained high-g maneuvers.
For races in warmer climates - such as Fantasia - Alano will use the top half of the Basic package.
Tokkyu will typically be seen in Operator-Basic gear, but can also be seen using the bottom half of the Drifter package from time-to-time. Given her sudden entry into professional racing, the Basic gear acts as relief for G-Loc related symptoms that she hasn't grown accustomed to.
Outside of the league, Tokkyu uses the Outerwear Jacket for casual wear.
